I love sharing what I know with others.  Whether in a formal classroom, at a research desk, in the stacks or around campus.  This is why I got into the information field. As Library Instruction Design Resident at Western Washington University everyday I am developing engaging, student-centered, technology-enriched learning experiences.

One of my big projects is redesigning an outdated online literacy tutorial. The new set of tutorials will be built in Drupal 7, use JavaScript libraries for cutting-edge presentations and be mobile ready by design. The lessons themselves will contain videos, text, images, presentations, and quizzes. Plus students will be able to get digital badges upon completing the lessons. Check out this set of lessons I created for our brand new library system we call OneSearch. This is an experimental website that I am using to flesh out ideas as we set up and configure Drupal.

During my time at Western so far, I have taught two versions of our four credit Introduction to Research Strategies class – once online and once face-to-face. I am also helping the librarians at Western improve their teaching practice and leverage relevant technologies to enhance student learning.
